Final Audit of GEI 2009 Universal Reunion

Hi Fellow Alumni,

 

Let us congratulate ourselves for a job well done in our recent GEI Universal Reunion held for 3 days running just last January 16-18, 2009. The celebration's highlight was the presentation of 30 scholars of the "Handog Paaral sa Kabataan" who will enrol in high school, mostly at our beloved alma mater, Great Eastern Institute. It is a four year course and we , the officers and organizers of this big and worthy cause, are proud to announce that their tuition fees will be fully covered for at least 2 years and Handog Foundation is still actively raising money to cover for the four year couse of the chosen 30 scholars.

If you will look at the fund statements, there is a fund balance of 460,676 pesos that is available right now to cover for the scholars tuition fees, this year and next.

Thanks to you and the supporters of the handog paaral sa kabataan. What seemed impossible to achieve in the beginning of this project has now become a reality.

The much awaited audited financial statements including list of donors have now been posted for you. Special thanks to Alex Pascual, CPAS & Associates and Derrick Evangelista for unselfish devotion to our cause.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES

The Grand Reunion's theme is " HANDOG PAARAL SA KABATAAN" . The purposeis to help educate poor and deserving children in the greater La Paz district by financing their tuition fees to obtain high school diploma.

On October 28, 2007, one hundred and seven (107) pupils representing the 20 barangays of our beloved town of La Paz took part in the qualifying exams to become GEI High School Scholars at the GEI campus. The examination was administered by "Handog Foundation". A selection committee was formed and headed by Fred Castro, a batch 63 alumni and presently holds a job as District Supervisor of Board of Education of City of Tarlac.

The Grand Reunion chairman, Jesusa Quiambao, announced the 30 successful candidates recently. They will be our scholars for the next school year and everyone will be enrolled at the Great Eastern Institute. Their pictures are shown with this article along with their parents . On hand at the announcement and picture taking were Jesusa Quiambao, the chairman and Dra. Auring Baguinon, the GEI Alumni President.

These young scholars will take part on the motorcade on January 17,2009 and they will be presented as well at the Gala Night.

BATCH 1998 REUNION

Also shown are the celebration of Batch 98's class reunion where Jesusa and Auring were invited. You can see them with their raised hands wearing our official grand reunion souvenir shirts.  The members of the batch 98 promised to attend our January 17, 2009 Grand Reunion.

FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT THE UNIVERSAL REUNION SOUVENIR T-SHIRTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE . THEY COME IN 6 DIFFERENT SIZES, SMALL, X SMALL, MEDIUM AND LARGE, XLARGE ,XXLARGE.  EACH COST 200 PESOS AND THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ATTIRE FOR THE JANUARY 17, 2009 PARADE. EVERY ATTENDEE MUST WEAR ONE AS A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT. ALSO LUNCH IS SERVED AFTER THE PARADE AND ONLY THOSE WEARING T-SHIRTS WILL BE SERVED. THE PROCEEDS WILL HELP DEFRAY THE EXPENSES.

PLEASE ORDER YOUR T-SHIRTS NOW FROM THE CONTACT PEOPLE LISTED ON ITEM 2 OF THE RECENT UPDATE MADE ON AUGUST 15, 2008.
